All our Primary Teachers at Victoria English School are professionals, who are loyal and dedicated. Their purpose is to make sure all our students succeed and develop into exemplary adults; we want your child to be motivated and enthusiastic in all their activities we encourage them to enjoy and embrace their learning experiences and never be afraid of embracing change. We aim for our students to be fully equipped for the Twenty First Century.
Throughout their learning process we place utmost importance on literacy, numeracy, science, and analytical abilities; skills they will need for preparing them for adult life and succeed in their careers; an understanding of what is an active and healthy lifestyle. At VES a multitude of teaching methods are used, including active and enterprising learning, this encourages young people to become inquisitive; learning across the curriculum allows them to make links between subjects. We have focused a great deal on learning outside the classroom in the outdoors and in the community, which gives the students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of real-life situations.
Your child in Primary will follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which comprises of three stages: the Foundation Level for children in FS1-FS2, Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2), and Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6). Throughout your child’s time in Primary they will be teacher assessed, tested in target achievements and national tests. The Curriculum emphasises that the assessment is an integral part of day-to-day teaching and learning. Student progress will be closely monitored by their teachers and together they will develop their strengths and build on their shortcoming, Students themselves will be systematically involved in this process as they develop the skills needed to be able to make effective judgments on their own learning; skills that will be important to them throughout life.
